Editorial Services

If you're an aspiring writer who would like honest, helpful feedback on your work, I can help. If you would like me to critique your short story, please get in touch. How much will it cost? Well, I charge 0.5 pence a word, that's roughly 0.75 US cents. I use PayPal.

Special Introductory Offer! I'm offering free advice on a short story (up to 7,000 words), if it's your first submission to me.

What do I offer aspiring writers? A manuscript critique, looking at the pros and cons of your story and suggesting ways in which it can be improved. This will deal with all the usual elements such as style, dialogue, characterisation, and structure. I will annotate your manuscript to suggest specific improvements, too.

Why pay for my opinion? I've read thousands of short stories in many genres, I have been publishing a well-regarded short story magazine since the beginning of this century, and have had a few stories published myself. I have extensive experience of various kinds of editorial work dating back several decades, dealing with both both fiction and non-fiction. I am also willing to look at full-length novels or non-fiction books.
